Description

“Celtic K”

I was studying the ancient manuscripts and one of the book of hours where the scribes would do all of their beautiful craftsmanship and leave room for the illuminators to come back and add their amazing touch to the pages. Actually back then they used calves skins for their beautiful wonders.

A beautiful piece inspired by the work of the ancient manuscripts. The letter is inlayed with 23k gold and has spirals and knots throughout. The colors of this Celtic letter “K” are done in blue, orange, yellow, and green. I love the interlocking knots on the inside of this “K”, it shows of the spirals that wind up the ends of this letter. However, my favorite part of this letter is the large knotwork in the middle of this letter, which I illuminate with 23k gold leaf.
