This Celtic Wolf is howling at the moon. Of course it’s not just a moon, it’s a silver Celtic moon! He appears to have a Celtic green aura around him it seems to have put him in a mood for sure. Looks like he’s having fun to me.
The Claddagh ring is a traditional Irish ring given as a token of friendship or love. The ring was first produced in the 17th century during the reign of William and Mary. The Claddagh's distinctive design features two hands clasping a heart, and usually surmounted by a crown.
The elements of this symbol are often said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown).
A wonderful cross with Celtic knots throughout and the symbol in the center tells the story. The center is in the shape of a key hole. The secret is that…..Jesus is the key to life here and now and in the hereafter. This is probably one of the more complex designs that I have done, with the two large panels of knotwork on each side of the cross are painted with burgundy reds and russet oranges and yellows against the black background.
There are three dancers dancing around the gold celtic knot in the center. The circle in this painting represents the world. The dark Blue represents water and the light blue the sky. The ribbons represent the ciaos and how dancers can control ciaos and turn it into something beautiful.
These lovely peacocks are so crazy about each other that they interlocked necks and just won’t let go! They are done on a beautiful background of golden light that surrounds them. Their love surrounds them so much that they are almost embarrassed to even gaze at each other. How sweet!
Well I just love hearts and all shapes really including the beautiful gold diamond in the middle! There lovely different colored pearls in this one and marques in blues. One of my favorite parts is the knotwork in the center, it just spoke to me, it is encircled with the magenta circle just before whole thing turns into an array of fun filled interlocking pieces and then ending back into the gorgeous hearts!
The ladies that were so close to the power in England, they really had to maneuver the balancing act just to stay alive! The beautiful golden ring in the middle symbolized the large brass ring of power that attracted all of them. They were all linked together by those twists and turns and the knots of fate!
This painting gives the viewer the feeling of looking upward. As if looking upward through a lush forest or jungle and then seeing the light from above. The centerpiece of intertwined knotwork, which is done with 23k gold and copper, represents the Light. The revelation is the light of God. As you look upward you see the beauty of God in the form of beautiful light. 1 John 1:5 describes God as light.
Looking around you see the hidden four eyes which represent seeing God. Meaning we can see God everywhere we look if we are only willing to stop and put things in to perspective."
The inspiration for this piece came from the carpet pages from the “Book of Kells”. Carpet pages, from the old manus, were pages that were filled with intricate details of knotwork and symbolism illustrated by the illuminators of the time.
I was inspired to design my own carpet page that you see here. So the gold leaf knotwork follows the design of a cross with a circle around the center that displays a rustic orange flower with the symbolism of peace. In the four spaces around this there are two birds each with their necks intertwined that represent love.
So the cross is hard to miss right! But, this piece is a party! It reminds me of going to a Mexican restaurant and having a drink in funky glass, with red, yellow and orange decorations. Obviously, I just to have the gold around, so there it, beautiful! The brown came out looking just like suede and I love it!
